Rules
Here be the rules of the contest...

Particpants

[x] Join the community and sign-up. The sign-up link can be found in the sidebar.

[x] You must enter every challenge - at the start of each round, you will be provided with a skip - basically a way of saying that you do not wish to submit an entry for a challenge. An additional skip is available to anyone who promotes the comm. On the first challenge you fail to submit an entry or a skip by challenge close, you will will be issued with a warning. On the second occurrence, you will be disqualified.

[x] Please submit your entry as a FULL URL, along with a 60 x 400px preview image, in the comments of the challenge post only. Any submitted in other posts will be ignored. If you wish to use a skip, please do so in the comments of the challenge too.

[x] You may only enter one wallpaper per challenge. You can change your entry as many times as you like, however, you should delete any previous comments containing entries. Failure to do so will result in your entry being treated as if you failed to submit an entry on time.

[x] Your wallpaper must be a conforming desktop size - ie in a standards size - with a width of at least 1024 pixels and no more than 1600 pixels.

Common sizes: 1024 x 768, 1280 x 768, 1280 x 1024, 1280 x 960, 1440 x 900, 1600 x 1200

It most also be less than 1MB file size.

[x] Textures and brushes are allowed unless specified otherwise, with the exception of large text brushes. The only text brushes you may use are tiny text ones.

[x] You may use stock photography unless otherwise specified. Questions of what is considered stock photography are answered in the FAQ.

[x] Wallpapers must be made specifically for each challenge - no recycling.

[x] Do not use your username or anything else that will be recognisable in your filename.

[x] Do not post your wallpaper anywhere else before the voting is closed.

Voting

[x] Anyone can vote, though anonymous votes will be trashed.

[x] You may ask your friends to vote, however you cannot tell them which entry is yours and to vote for you. Anyone suspected of cheating in this manner will be disqualified.

[x] Every challenge you will vote for the wallpaper(s) - depending on participant count - that you like the least. You must give a reason why - it doesn't have to be technical - however comments of the "I just don't like it" ilk will not be accepted.

[x] You will also vote for a favourite wallpaper - comments are not required.

[x] Statement of obvious - no voting for your own entry.

Following the first round I noted some things that would improve the running of the challenges and my ability to administer them. So, please take note of the following:

[x] From now on wallpapers must be under 1MB in size. This is because the wallpapers are loaded to a single Photobucket to keep anonymity and PB doesn't allow images any bigger in filesize. I'm being generous here - ideally a wallpaper should be less than 500K.

[x] Uploading of images:

i. Please do not use LJ Scrapbook or any other service which does not retain the file extension of images since uploads by URL cannot be done on these files.

ii. ImageShack users - please give the end image URL NOT the ImageShack holding page one - eg. Your URL should be http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/9761/filename.jpg NOT http://img253.imageshack.us/my.php?image=filename.jpg

[x] No usernames in your filenames please.

[x] Please post the FULL URL in your entries and not html coded links.

[x] Please include a 60 x 400 preview strip in your entry, like the ones in the current voting.

[x] The only image in your entry should be the preview strip. Do not post the wallpaper itself as an image in your entry. URL only please.
